| Orlando Bloom: The young James Bond!
Orlando Bloom will play a young James Bond in a new film about the secret agent's college days, according to reports. The Evening Standard yesterday said that the British actor has signed up with Miramax to star in the film. It is to focus on Bond's college days after he gets expelled from Eton. Bloom recently appeared on Irish screens in 'Troy' and is currently working on Cameron Crowe's 'Elizabethtown' with Kirsten Dunst and Susan Sarandon.
Orlando Bloom is to play the new James Bond. However, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' heartthrob will not be replacing Pierce Brosnan as 007 - instead he will star in a movie about the suave spy' s younger days. A source at Hollywood studios Miramax, who are making the film, revealed: "The story that Orlando will play Bond is true but we are doing a rather novel film about the young James Bond. "The author, Ian Fleming, never really got into this period of his character 's life, but he did mention in 'You Only Live Twice' that Bond attended Fettes College, having been expelled from Eton. Charlie Higson, who is writing the screenplay, has woven a wonderful tale around this." Miramax believe Orlando - who was recently tipped to take over from Pierce Brosnan in the regular Bond films - will be perfect for the role. The source told Britain's Sunday Telegraph newspaper: "Orlando's got the sort of face that makes him look believable for that whole period in Bond's life." The movie is also set to show Bond's notorious womanising started at a young age. The insider added: "There will be a lot of that sort of thing."
Orlando Bloom Attracts Attention in Kentucky
From various news sources, including ABC News: Some central Kentucky residents got a taste of Hollywood when director Cameron Crowe filmed scenes in Versailles for his latest movie, "Elizabethtown." But Crowe didn't attract as much attention as Orlando Bloom, the movie's male lead. Girls lined up on Main Street Thursday to shout, "We love you, Orlando!" to the 27-year-old actor, who was behind the wheel of a gray Mercury sedan that went up and down the street for multiple takes. Bloom's films include "The Lord of the Rings" movies and "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." "Wow, this is unbelievable!" said 9-year-old Emily Frangedakis, who joined her sister, Eleni, 11, in serenading Bloom.

Thousands of Teen Girls Vie for Part in Orlando Bloom Movie
LEXINGTON, Ky--At least 50,000 screaming teenage girls appeared at a general casting call for the Cameron Crowe film "Elizabethtown" starring Orlando Bloom.
Desperate for the opportunity to appear for two seconds in the same film with the lean, fine-boned, symmetrical, orgasm-inducing Hollywood hunk-o-rama with the soulful puppy-dog eyes, girls from twelve to nineteen jammed into a parking lot outside the building where casting was taking place. The filmmakers and Lexington police were utterly unprepared for the crunch as the mass of sweaty, oestrogen-charged, halter-top-and-denim-short-clad girl-flesh continued to grow unchecked.
Lexington police chief Mort McTallywacker said, “There are no toilet faculties, nothing to eat. Traffic's at a standstill throughout the district. Whenever a rumor starts that Orlando's been spotted, it spreads like wildfire through the crowd, and there's a crush in the general direction of the supposed sighting, with the result that lots of girls get trampled, crushed, or asphyxiated. It's a madhouse. A madhouse!

16-year-old Ellie Mae Simpson was happy and excited, despite not having anything to eat or drink since 3 a.m., being unable to sit down, and unable to find a bathroom.

Latest word on "Pirates" sequel

From Coming Soon: Two cool news bits have come in this weekend about the Pirates of the Caribbean sequels. First up, Dark Horizons received a report from the NATO (North American Theatre Owners) annual meeting where Disney talked about the franchise. He went on to talk about the sequel(s) to Pirates and said the entire cast and production team would be back. He said production would begin shortly on Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3 and they would be released six months apart in 2006. This was news to me as I had only heard their was going to be one sequel. This confirms earlier speculation by the Hollywood trades that Disney was going to shoot two sequels at once, much like the second and third "Matrix" films. ComingSoon.net has also confirmed with a very reliable source that Johnny Depp's wish has come true. Rolling Stones' Keith Richards will indeed play Captain Jack Sparrow's dad in the sequel. As you probably know by now, Depp modeled Sparrow in the first film after the musician.
